Everett City Council Tables the Sale of the Wood Creek Forest
We wanted to provide an update and a recent statement from Mayor Cassie Franklin regarding Wood Creek and its future. District 2’s council member, Paula Rhyne, has been actively pursuing a formal statement from the Mayor, which was finally received on August 23: Councilmembers,
You might remember discussions about disposing or selling city-owned property near Woods Creek. That proposal is currently tabled, and I don't expect any action on this issue to occur in the foreseeable future. Should my administration decide that this was an option worth revisiting, we would engage the community and ensure all interested neighbors and other stakeholders were aware. I encourage you to share this with your constituents.
Thank you!
Cassie
We are grateful to Council Member Rhyne for her continued advocacy on this issue. While we can infer from the Mayor’s statement that no there is no immediate action planned for selling, developing, or preserving Wood Creek forest at this time, we should remain diligent in expressing our concerns and building relationships with incoming council members to educate them on this issue.

Thank You for the update. As you are aware Lowell, has a vested interest in what happens to this precious resource. Wood Creek flows down to Lowell and across Larimer Road into the AG land.
